Traditional Mooltan Blue Pottery Plate (small motif)

25.00

This plate displays a traditional floral motif found at the shrine of Shah Rukhn-e-Alam in the ancient city of Multan. It can be used in the kitchen, or as a decorative plate for display.

This plate was crafted by 60 year old blue pottery maker Baba Iqbal in South Punjab. His family has been making pottery since the days of colonial British Raj. Baba Iqbal and other blue pottery makers like him are facing major obstacles today, including a lack of gas in the winter months. Ralli has placed orders with blue pottery makers in the region that we will start receiving in March.
